Invited by the gorgeous venue of Spazio Volta, Bergamo Italy, curator Zoë De Luca Legge put together a show featuring Sarah Fokke, Stanislav Zábrodský, Oscar Giaconia and Venus Jasper.
“Pushing Up Daisies” explores the sensual side of decomposition transcending anthropocentric perspectives and paradigms that prevent us from recognising that even in decay there is beauty. What often evokes disgust is actually teeming with life and pleasure - a vital part of natural cycles that represent transformation and renewal. The exhibition aims to be a reflection of nature’s complexity, of the interconnectedness of all forms of life, and the continuous flow of creation, death, and rebirth.
I am very excited to show my new installation "THEY ARE BEFORE AND AFTER" comprised of three of the ceramic reflecting pools with depicting insects, amoebae, amfibians and mirco-organisms, which I made at the @ekwc_oisterwijk over the last months, perching on metal tripods installed with water dispensers and glowing lights.
Upstairs, in another gorgeous space, an old chapel for Saint Rocco, I am showing "Spirits. Workers. Kin.", comprised of three collage on gilded-wood panel, of course next to the gorgeousssss works by the other artists :)
